Carhartt Retail Clothing Store Oldham Street Manchester

Originally founded in New York, Carhartt is a unique urban style clothing store. The brand had aspirations to take their new retail space in Manchester to a new level. Being an historically New York outfit, music was a major part of their plan. Carhartt needed a professional sound solution to help create an array of different moods for the store. They needed a sound system that could provide surround sound and clarity during the day, but also had the ability to be pumped up in the evening and weekends and could also cope with with live shows, DJ’s and other artists performing whilst people shopped.

Blacka Acoustics fitted the widely recognised Blacka TFR 801 full range speakers in each corner of the store and two subwoofers (Blacka RF12,) one on either end to add depth to the bass, whilst making the system more than sufficiently powered. The amps used to power this setup are the reliable QSC ISA 450, one to run the subs and one to run the full range surround speakers, (TFR 801) this is controlled with a DBX 2/3/4 crossover and a Cloud CX163 Zone Controller. The playback can be obtained from Marantz single CD player or an iPod.

When the DJ’s and other artists perform they obviously need the necessary DJ equipment/monitors etc and instead of going to the expense of buying all the gear, Carhartt opt to hire from Blacka Acoustics at a preferential business rates as and when they need.
