Manchester is generally not the first city that comes to mind when you think of Hip Hop, but for those in the know, the city has a thriving underground scene. There are huge amounts of artists based throughout the city, and organisations such as Unity Radio Station have worked hard to create a hub for this emerging talent. At their new Manchester headquarters, The Hanger in Ancoats. Unity Radio hosted the first leg of the The I love Hip Hop UK Tour.

The first of 20 scheduled events featured an array of Manchester's brightest hip hop performers. Branded as the best live Hip Hop event to hit Manchester. the show rolled into town, to a sold out crowd of over 200 people. The event began in true hip hop style with a series of live graffiti paintings. Performing live on the night: SCAM, TRISTAN HENRY, REMASSY, DRASE, LYRICN & HOODMAN, JUN TZU, CHRONICAL, MEANY. DJ'S ON THE NIGHT: DR.G & ROB FURY.
